The Creation Process
The Brief
Every fragrance begins with an emotional concept — a memory, a landscape, a feeling. Our creative director and master perfumer collaborate to define the olfactory journey.
Selection
Over 200 raw materials are evaluated for each composition. Only the finest — from Bulgarian rose to aged Assam oud — earn a place in the formula.
Blending
The perfumer blends by hand in our atelier, building the fragrance molecule by molecule. Each adjustment is aged and tested over weeks.
Maturation
Like fine wine, our extracts mature for months. The concentration — 20-40% pure fragrance oil — requires patience and precision.
Verification
Each batch undergoes rigorous quality testing — longevity, sillage, stability, and safety. Nothing leaves the atelier without our seal.
Presentation
Hand-filled bottles, hand-placed labels, hand-sealed wax. The final presentation honors the artistry within.
Distinguished Techniques
Extrait de Parfum Concentration
20-40% pure fragrance oil — the highest concentration in perfumery. This delivers 8-12 hours of wear, far exceeding Eau de Parfum (15-20%) and Eau de Toilette (5-15%).
Traditional Maceration
Our extracts mature for 3-6 months before bottling. This patient process allows the molecules to harmonize, creating the depth and complexity that defines Bona Fide.
Hand-Finished Bottling
Each bottle is individually inspected, hand-filled, and sealed. The wax seal, applied at exactly 65°C, ensures both integrity and beauty.
Cold-Press Extraction
Citrus oils are extracted through cold pressing — never heat — preserving the delicate top notes that define a fragrance's first impression.
The Nose Behind Bona Fide
Our master perfumer brings over 25 years of experience from the ateliers of Grasse, the spice markets of Marrakech, and the oud forests of Southeast Asia. Trained at the Institut des Sciences du Parfumer et de la Cosmétique, they have composed for the world's most prestigious fragrance houses.
